Dam
I feel so finished travelling down Shit Show Road.
Praying I've forgotten the way back because
I've been a fool for too long,
Those lights of hope, for me, can seem to no longer glow.

A path of only tears, where comfort finds no abode.
I know it's a place where it seems to rain all the time, sometimes snow.
The thing is, when the sun does come out,
And it does always come out,
It exposes beauty all around, more than you could ever know.

This road seems so long when you're steeped in pain.
I wish at times my heart wasn't so tender,
so nothing seemed in vain.
This life's been a journey full of countless woes,
So much craziness, so much control.
It's not easy to stay open, to see the light,
It's not easy to allow life's journey, just go with the flow.

I know I've got to take it one day at a time,
With these channelled words,
Hoping to share healing through my rhyme, if you have the time.
Even though it's so painful, I'm divinely told:
Don't ever blink, you'll miss what you're led to see on this Shit Show Road.

So with eyes wide open, I'll keep travelling,
But damn, I'm going to tell you, I'm so tired of Shit Show Road.
I know we all feel like this, time and time again.
It seems we can get so lost when it only rains pain.
Please, we get so tired of Shit Show Road.
Its path is rough, so hard,
With truths of a load that can never truly be told.

The sun always does come out though, and we need to really know,
That amazing things grow when nourished by what exists on that Shit Show Road.
So the next time you want to cry, my spirits tell me, let it all out.
For when tears flow, doors are unlocked,
To open before you, revealing what you've really been waiting for.
